Abstract. The article deals with the work of A. V. Nemenko, devoted to the period of occupation of the Crimea in 1941–1944 by the German-Romanian troops. The author analyzes the content of German, Romanian and Soviet archival sources related to the military actions on the peninsula, with the course of organization and conduct of the guerrilla war, the Nazi occupation system of governance and ethnic policy. By conducting a comparative analysis of various sources on the partisan movement, the author exposes the myth of the “Tatar issue”, created in the postwar period to justify the total deportation of the Crimean Tatars.

Keywords: Great Patriotic War, Crimea, military operations, occupation policy, military archives.
