Abstract. Documents 9, 10, 11, 12 in Dariusz Kolodziejczyk’s scientific work “The Crimean Khanate and Poland-Lithuania” refer to diplomatic acts of the 16th–17th centuries, recording negotiations and peace agreements between the Crimean Khanate and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. They are examples of diplomatic correspondence and treaty acts between the Crimean Khanate and the Polish-Lithuanian state of that period. They illustrate: peace negotiation procedures, including the selection of ambassadors, their status and powers, rituals and symbols accompanying diplomatic missions, issues of equality and hierarchy in relations between the parties, the role of the Ottoman Empire as the supreme suzerain of Crimea in shaping the terms of treaties, and the influence of treaties on the stabilization of border regions and the regulation of military conflicts. These materials allow us to reconstruct not only the legal aspects of the agreements, but also the cultural and symbolic context of diplomacy, in which titles, ceremonial rituals, and the exchange of gifts played an important role.
