Abstract. This article is based on a newly discovered source compiled by Osman Akchokrakly and which has been unknown for over a hundred years. Although this work is named “A Short Trip around Crimea,” after transliteration from Arabic to Cyrillic by the author, it is approximately 120 pages long. The article examines many aspects of the scholar’s life and work dating back to 1924. The author demonstrates that it was in July and August 1924 that Akchokrakly completed an internship and gained valuable experience, which he later used during the extensive archaeological research conducted in Crimea in 1925 and 1926 under the supervision of professor I. Borozdin.
